We're ready for some water park fun

A day with Georgette

Georgette and I were the best of friends in high school.

As we got married and started our own families, we lost touch.
We found each other on Facebook and started talking again

Jonathan, the boys, and I went and spent the day with George and her family
We had a really fun day with a big thunderstorm as a grand finale
It is amazing how you can be apart for years, but fall right back into your comfort zone once together again. We've have both changed a lot...learned a lot...and value each other for the person we have become.

Temple Trip Date Night

We wanted to go to the temple together again. We decided to invite Mom, Jim and Linda to go on a double date with us to the temple.
We grabbed a bite to eat and got there just in the nick of time for our Endowment Session
Afterwards, Linda decided she was hungry again...so we went to Frisch's and had a late night snack.

"I would hope that we might go to the house of the Lord a little more frequently. . . . In this noisy, bustling, competitive world, what a privilege it is to have a sacred house where we may experience the sanctifying influence of the Spirit of the Lord." ~Gordon B. Hinckley

"Let us not live a life . . . that would bring regret. . . . It is not going to matter very much how much money you made, what kind of a house you lived in, what kind of a car you drove, the size of your bank account--any of those things. What is going to matter is that dear woman who has walked with you side by side as your companion through all of the years of life and those children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their faithfulness and their looking to you . . . with respect and love and deference and kindness. . . ." ~ Gordon B. Hinckley

"As a husband and wife are each drawn to the Lord (see 3 Ne. 27:14), as they learn to serve and cherish one another, as they share life experiences and grow together and become one, and as they are blessed through the uniting of their distinctive natures, they begin to realize the fulfillment that our Heavenly Father desires for His children. Ultimate happiness, which is the very object of the Father's plan, is received through the making and honoring of eternal marriage covenants." ~David A. Bednar

"Wherever you live on this earth and whatever your life's situation may be, I testify to you that the gospel of Jesus Christ has the divine power to lift you to great heights from what appears at times to be an unbearable burden or weakness. The Lord knows your circumstances and your challenges. He said to Paul and to all of us, 'My grace is sufficient for thee.' And like Paul we can answer: 'My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me' (2 Corinthians 12:9).

"As members of the Church of Jesus Christ, we may claim the blessings promised in the covenants and the ordinances we received when we accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ." ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"The priesthood of God, with its keys, its ordinances, its divine origin and ability to bind in heaven what is bound on earth, is as indispensable to the true Church of God as it is unique to it and . . . without it there would be no Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." ~Jeffrey R. Holland

"An eternal marriage is eternal. Eternal implies continuing growth and improvement. It means that man and wife will honestly try to perfect themselves. It means that the marriage relationship is not to be frivolously discarded at the first sign of disagreement or when times get hard. It signifies that love will grow stronger with time and that it extends beyond the grave. It means that each partner will be blessed with the company of the other partner forever and that problems and differences might as well be resolved because they are not going to go away. Eternal signifies repentance, forgiveness, long-suffering, patience, hope, charity, love, and humility. All of these things are involved in anything that is eternal, and surely we must learn and practice them if we intend to claim an eternal marriage." ~F. Burton Howard

"In addition to temples, surely another holy place on earth ought to be our homes. The feelings of holiness in my home prepared me for feelings of holiness in the temple."~James E. Faust

Swimming Fun

We were going to be leaving for a date night at the temple, so we thought it would be a good idea to have some family time with the boys.
Swimming on a hot day is always a treat!

It's bright!

Cedar Point 2010

We are pretty limited with what we kinds of vacation types of things we can do while taking care of Gramma. We basically take day trips here and there to have fun together.
Today was a Promedica Employee Day, so we had a Simons Family Day

Fun times at Cedar Point!

The first ride the boys wanted to go on.
They waited in line for 1 hr 45 minutes, but loved every minute of the ride
